Hyposphagma is called the concentration of small amount of blood in the conjunctiva, which usually occurs after the rupture of a small vessel in the region.

This is a situation which does not affect vision, however, patients are seriously worried due to the impressive clinical image they are subject to due to that disease.

The hyposphagma can happen automatically after sudden weight lifting (eg parents who raise their children), or after a severe coughing, vomiting, etc.

People with accompanying health problems such as hypertension, diabetes, or taking of anticoagulant drugs, are more likely to experience hyposphagma.

Treatment is not necessary. The only way to eliminate a hyposphagma is to wait until it is absorbed, which may take a few days or weeks. In case of frequent relapses additional cardiac and haematological monitoring is recommended.
