As we have already highlighted, the younger the age at which amblyopia is recognized, the greater the chances of success.
As we have already highlighted, the younger the age at which amblyopia is recognized, the greater the chances of success. Frequently,
children at the age of two with low vision in one eye, and considered legally blind because of amblyopia from strabismus, have complete
recovery of their vision within a month.
An ophthalmologist checking up with the child should not end with the restoration of vision of the amblyopic eye, especially in cases of
strabismus where there is a risk of relapse.
The real challenge is to identify those children with amblyopia that do not have strabismus so it is easy to escape for a long time, the
parents or even the pediatricians’ attention that one eye is weaker.
