In our center, we employ all the latest techniques for the surgical removal of cataracts. Many of these were used at our center for the first time worldwide, on a pilot basis. These include bimanual cool phacoemulsification, which uses low-energy ultrasound, aimed at exposing the ophthalmic tissues to less thermal phenomena, incisions are smaller than 2 mm and more immediate restoration of vision. With concerns (MICS), this technique used new software that was implemented at our centers for the first time in the world on behalf of the company Baush & Lomb.
Also, newer techniques and technologies (Acqualase) that use water at a specific temperature and pressure and hydrolyze the cataract lens aimed at completely avoiding thermal effects in the ophthalmic tissues.
