Presbyopia treatment with Femtosecond Laser (Intracor)

The first presbyopia treatment with the Femtosecond Laser (Intracor) was held on 3/2/2012 at the Athens Eye Hospital. Intracor is a technique for intrastromal correction of presbyopia, using the special Femtosecond Laser of Technolas.

The procedure is quick, effective, painless and absolutely safe. Vision restoration is immediate. It is indicative that the Chief Nursing Officer of the ophthalmological operating room at the Athens Eye Hospital was subjected to this procedure. This fact is a solid argument on how much the hospital’s personnel is convinced about the effectiveness of this new treatment. The procedure is carried out by the Director of the Department of Refractive Surgery of the Hospital, Panayiotis Zafeirakis. In this procedure you may notice the treatment of certain types of keratoconus by inserting special intra-corneal rings ( Ferrara rings). It is a pioneer procedure for the treatment of keratoconus, given that, not only the corneal condition is stabilized, but vision is improved as well.
