Strictly speaking, this is not a
construction of an IOL, but a
special clear gel which molds
into the capsular bag, after
the cataractous lens has been
removed. The goal of this
method is to use the natural
focusing system available to the
natural eye, but so far it has been
only experimental.
This is another construction; consisting of two IOLs engineered to-
gether, which tries to use the natural focusing system of the eye, by
adjusting the distance between the two IOLs.

Double intraocular lens:
With the constriction of the ciliary body the
two blades which form the lens distance themselves increasing the
power of the lens allowing the focusing of near objects.
This lens consists of three optical elements. The spherical optical
element is much like an ordinary IOL and is placed in the bag, as
in most cataract surgery. However
it is connected with two other
optical elements, a toric lens
and a multifocal lens, which can
be adjusted with an optional
second intervention to achieve
the best visual results. It is also
experimental at the moment.
